SUPERMARKET Edge Protector Update
Sustainable PAP21 Corner Posts Available
As sustainability continues to shape packaging standards across the retail sector, some supermarkets have introduced an update to pallet load securing requirements.
Suppliers within the fruit & vegetables and flowers & plants categories are required to use recyclable cardboard edge protectors printed with the PAP21 recycling code. This move forms part of the retail sector’s wider commitment to reducing environmental impact and improving the recyclability of packaging materials across supply chains.
PAP21 is the recognised recycling code for paper and corrugated board materials, ensuring edge protectors can be easily identified and processed within standard paper recycling streams.
To support customers supplying into supermarkets, Acorn Labels now offers compliant edge protectors printed with the PAP21 recycling code. These corner posts provide reliable pallet protection while helping businesses meet the latest retailer requirements
